Meet Dr. Todd Klesert
Dr. Klesert was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was valedictorian of his class at Alma College, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, before moving out west to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. He earned both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Washington, in conjunction with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, where he made important contributions to the field of human genetics and cancer. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University, followed by fellowship training in medical and surgical retina at the Doheny Eye Institute at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
After completing his medical training, Dr. Klesert was an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, and more recently back home at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters and has been principal investigator for several clinical trials. Dr. Klesert is an avid outdoorsman and photographer, but spends most of his free time raising his family with his wife Jennifer. Although the Pacific Northwest has become his adopted home, he continues to root for his favorite sports teams from Michigan.
"I was visiting Seattle and I had an emergency. I was accepted the same day and everyone in the office was great! Dr. Klesert was very professional, knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. I felt that I was in safe hands. He knew that I was just his temporary patient and yet he encouraged me to call after hours if the condition worsens, he treated me like I was his patient for many years to come. I would recommend him and his office to anyone looking for eye care."— Patient of Dr. Klesert's
