Pacific Northwest Retina Welcomes Dr. Loka Thangamathesvaran

Pacific Northwest Retina is excited to welcome Dr. Loka Thangamathesvaran to our practice. She is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist, as well as a published author in top peer-reviewed journals, who prioritizes compassionate patient care, making her a perfect fit for our team.
Dr. Thangamathesvaran was selected for the 7-year combined BA/MD program at Rutgers University and graduated summa cum laude. She then completed her ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. Her exceptional care for patients during residency earned her the Morton and Myrna Goldberg Prize. She later received the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship, a grant awarded to a select number of fellows each year to help pursue excellence in patient care, education, and research. She has also presented her work on diabetic retinopathy, intravitreal injections, and sickle cell retinopathy at numerous conferences.
